RHF was founded in 2000 to teach communication and argumentation skills to homeschooled students in the Richmond area, with a goal of providing a means for them to compete with other homeschooled students across the state and the nation.
Speech and debate teaches students to communicate, argue, and defend their positions effectively. This intense and competitive academic exercise prepares participants for real-world challenges to their faith and values. Practically every interaction with other human beings requires the ability to communicate ideas in some fashion. Speech and Debate enables and teaches students to learn how to persuade and ultimately influence those around them to a moral and christ-like worldview through effective communication.
